Taylor grew up just up the road from me in Rural Airdrie, spending her summers with her Grandma Sharon & Grandpa Omar. I always looked forward to seeing her—especially at the Airdrie Rodeo, where we would dance at the cabaret!! She was only tiny back then!! And occasionally we would send over one of our senior horses, Jimmy, for her to enjoy in the summer. So when I got the call, I was delighted to be invited to share this milestone with this tight knit family. Taylor graduates next week, but she wanted to have a special portrait session of her & her grandparents who raised her which is a complete testament to this wonderful young ladies old soul and thoughtfulness. To make the occasion extra special, great-grandma was able to attend (she is 99 this year!). We photographed Taylors graduation at her grandparents acreage near Airdrie, where her grandpa has taken special care to the landscaping over the years. Shooting this Airdrie graduation session in the backyard just felt right– as we were surrounded by blue spruce, ponderosa pines, cherry trees and evergreens that Grandpa Omar hand raised.

It was a joyous celebration with many laughs and happy tears (and gasps!) when Taylor came around the corner in her glittery blue Le Gala gown that they picked up at Elite Bridal in Lacombe.  Taylor is eagerly anticipating pursuing an education in social work and is the recipient of many prestigious scholarships.
