Brooke the Clipper Girl Clinic at Ramblin Ranch || Airdrie Equine Events Photographer

For those of you that don’t know, I raise miniature horses for show! My miniature horses have been on the blog occasionally , as I love to share ‘my world’ with my readers. When I’m not driving tractor, I’m with my horses, or gardening , and sometimes I pick up a camera while I’m at it!

Preparing a miniature horse for show is a lot of hard work! It requires a bath, a full body clip (#10 or #15 blade) and a facial. We facial the minis to sculpt their face and make them look more refined. It takes about 2 1/2 – 3 hours per horse once all the work is done!!! Then when we get to the show grounds– we usually do another bath, put them in their pajamas so they don’t get dirty, and the morning of the show they get their hooves polished, a body shine spray on their coat and we shine up those fresh little faces with baby oil gel. Then we take a deep breathe, ignore our sore backs, and step into the show ring with a well prepped tiny horse!

Brooke gave a great clinic and is an excellent teacher. I was able to try out my new Andis 5 Speed clipper! Christine offered a lovely atmosphere, everything was decored to the hilt!! We enjoyed an awesome home made lunch made by Christine and it was fantastic. I ate 4 sandwiches, 3 bowls of soup and 3 cheesecake desserts! Thank you Christine!
