Last week I enjoyed a wonderful little work trip to to shoot a rustic stylized wedding workshop in Atlanta, Georgia. ( You can view my blogpost here to see my scenery photos!! ) Sadly, the cold weather followed me down to the southern state from Canada but it was SO worth it!
I just adore Bobbi from the Salty Peanut Photography from Wisconsin. When I saw she was putting on wedding workshops throughout the United States, I didn’t waste a single second booking my spot and plane tickets to meet my idol in person. Her posing compositions are melt-worthy, her style is completely her own, and she has a terrific, patient way of teaching. I was grinning like the Cheshire cat when I got to hug her for the first time! We met in the morning at Shala Wills beautiful studio and reviewed everything from initial client inquiry all the way to sending print orders. Bobbi gave me a slew of new ideas and products I can bring home to Canada for my clients. The quality of her product offerings are out of this world. Even though I have to pay a premium to get these top notch albums, canvas and prints to Canada: they are so worth it. They are so awe inspiring that I’m tempted to lug a canvas and print sample in my purse whenever I go shopping for groceries in Airdrie.. But then I’d be the crazy photographer lady bragging about my products and whipping them out to show people down the dairy aisle… Oh my gosh!!!
After our morning / early afternoon of learning (I took 5 pages of notes — highlighted the ‘action items’ and wrote down all anecdotes. Damn it, I get my moneys worth) we prepared to head out into the cold and wind for a styled shoot. We arrived at the location and were in awe of the beautiful models: the hair and makeup was flawless and the flowers were INCREDIBLE. It was so cold, we had to let the models take turns warming up in the truck. Thank you so much to our models who were so resilient !!!!
I will also be attending her workshop this week in Las Vegas, Dandelion in the Desert co-hosted with Blue Dandelion Photography.
