Not very many people can say they love their neighbours!! Years ago, Clif & Suzanne moved in to the property up the road. One of my favourite adventures with Cliff was when we drove up bright and early to Innisfail for an Odd & Unusual Critter sale in 2014, to buy my first chickens. I had been anticipating getting my first chickens for years. Knowing Cliff was an avid chicken lover, we teamed up to pick out some pretty hens. Cliff drove the 2 of us up to Innisfail, bought me a nice lunch, and armed with our pocket flashlights, we promptly looked through the boxes for something special for me to take home. I wrote down a few lot #’s, but was disappointed when my favourite lot of black Cochins went for $300. Cliff patiently waited with me for the whole afternoon– insisting that we didn’t need to leave until my lots went through the auction. But eventually, we agreed to head home with my insistence (chicken auctions can get a little crazy– and go all night, into the wee hours of the morning!!). We drove through a blizzard to get home and I ended up winning my chickens through online bidding!! Spending that day with me meant a lot, as we traded stories, shared some laughs,  gave me some advice on chicken raising (and some life advice!).

I bonded with my neighbours Cliff & Suzanne Shaw over their genuine love for animals, their love of beautiful landscaping (and gardening!), good cooking, good company, and movies. Nothing is better then having kindred spirits just up the road from you. Suzanne has fabulous taste in clothes, style & music, Cliff has a green thumb and is a movie & comfort food connoisseur.  It was a total treat to be able to snap some quick Airdrie couples photos of these lovebirds back in Fall 2014!!!
