Lauren first contacted me one winter afternoon with a wedding date inquiry as I was out with the cows. Within a few seconds I could sense her warm heart and personable spirit. I looked around & laughed as I said, “ah, I’m out in the middle of a field surrounded by cows right now, can I email you some details once I’m at home?”. She laughed and said, “of course!” and I knew I had scored another fabulous bride. Plans were made for a Cochrane engagement shoot, and we booked her & Carter’s September 3, 2016 wedding.
We planned to meet in Airdrie for the engagement and travel onto Cochrane, where we would be doing an engagement shoot at my friend Roz Edge Photography’s beautiful farm. I knew that the beautiful barn wood & white bark poplar trees would be a perfectly tailored fit to Lauren & Carter. On our way to Cochrane from Airdrie, Lauren and I chatted about wedding planning, kicking those photoshoot jitters and of course– horses!! We arrived at the farm in Cochrane and got right to the photoshoot– Carter had to leave at 5pm for hockey in Lacombe. The wind was gusty and freezing that day, but in Roz’s beautiful meadow we were shielded from Mother Nature’s wrath– and you would never be able to tell by these photos!! We were so lucky to enjoy GLORIOUS sun on this day and I was eager to exploit it for all it was worth!!
We were kept warm by many shared giggles (I giggle a lot, okay!!) , tripping on ice, general goofiness and all of Roz’s beautiful critters on her farm. My cheeks hurt after this session from laughing. And to be honest— making Lauren & Carter look good was truly effortless. Lauren has a very classy, southern-debutante-esque sense of style and presence, and Carter is like a Titanic-era Leonardo DiCaprio. The love between them was honest and kind. You two were so amazing to work with, I thank you so much– I can’t WAIT to see what kind of images I will get at the wedding!!!!
P.S. Don’t forget to check out my friend Roz at Roz Edge Photography. She is opening up her property as a wedding venue in 2016 and is booking dates. As you can see her little farm is HEAVEN on earth. If you’re looking for a little slice of heaven for your wedding, make sure you drop her an email, and tell her Kaycee sent ya.
Chow for now, xoxo, Kaycee
