An October Engagement Session at Johnsons Island Park, South of Calgary
Abby and Bryce met at Abby’s sisters wedding– where Bryce was the grooms best man!! (and now- Abby’s brother in law will be Bryce’s best man for their wedding!). The pair were engaged last summer on a backpacking trip through Europe. He proposed in Ireland, on a little country dirt road– under towering trees straight out of a storybook, while it drizzled rain. Say it with me ladies– awwwwwww!!
I first met Bryce when Kyle organized a party bus for his girlfriend (and now wife and baby mama) Jocelyn, waaaaayyyyyyyy back in my college days!! Since then I’ve built my photography business– I photographed Kyle & Jocelyn’s wedding in Indus, through them I met Lukas & Heather who were also married in Indus, and at those weddings I befriended the fabulous Kay-cee & Travis who will be getting married next year! Of course Bryce & Abby are part of that great group of friends, were at those weddings and when they emailed me earlier this year about photographing their wedding next June— I’m pretty sure the neighbours could hear me screaming from a quarter section away!!!! What a thrill to photograph and be a part of so many people’s love stories. We headed to Johnson’s Island Provincial Park for their fall engagement shoot which is just downriver from my fave McKinnon’s Flats (where I did Kyle & Jocelyns and Lukas & Heathers engagement session). It was quiet and peaceful down there with fishermen just loading their boats out of the water!!
